Why Did I Buy This?

I often asked myself ‘Why did I buy this?’ Four expandable wooden trellis packages took up space in our storage closet for two years. Even when I purchased them, I asked myself ‘Why am I buying this?’

When my daughter and I decided to move, I offered the trellises to two people. They each declined. I felt peculiarly pleased. I couldn’t even bring myself to put these ‘useless things’ into my carloads of downsizing donations. ‘Why not?’ I wondered.

There was a rental ad for a unit in an apartment building in our preferred location in the city. Ground floor facing a parking lot with no patio. While we made plans to view it, I kept seeing a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ balcony and the same numbers ‘101’ I’d been seeing ‘pop out’ at me for over a year. I was puzzled.

The day arrived for our viewing. Once in the building, the manager informed us that the advertised apartment was already rented but another unit was available. We were shown ‘101’ with a lovely little balcony.

On the day we moved in and began unpacking I now knew exactly where my wooden trellises and climbing ivy plants would go.

A Story of Religions

We have long revered, idolized and worshipped the ‘People of the Stars’ who brought their many Religions to this Living Library Planet. Many different Ancient Aliens- Alien ‘Angel’ Messengers recreated their diverse Belief Systems here. They created the gods of Egypt, India, Persia, Greece, Rome, Central America and elsewhere. They created Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and other Power Structures of Religion. It was also Ancient Aliens who created the worship of Baal, Moloch, Satan, Kali and a global pantheon of death cult gods. They even inspired the creation of ‘Hollywood Stars’ worshipped by believers and atheists alike. There is a constant stream of reinventions of Ancient Beliefs brought here to this Living Library Planet by this diversity of Ancient Aliens- the ‘People of the Stars’.

There Was Once…

There was once an amoral world where an evolving human species experimented on other species- as well as on their own kind. They had no regard for all the suffering they created. Those who were not directly involved in the experiments simply watched through their technologies. As the experiments increased, this became an increasingly voyeuristic world. The humans became less human. Eventually, they became bio- machines in a world of their making- a world of amoral Cy- Borgs.

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time there was a blue-skinned people who lived on a silvery planet orbiting a great blue star. They were an ancient race of humans who understood many advanced sciences including space travel and genetic engineering. Long ago, some of the blue-skinned people travelled to a little planet used by many interstellar species as a ‘living library’. An amazing diversity of lifeforms adapted and evolved on this terra-formed planet orbiting a yellow sun. The blue-skinned people adapted and thrived there too. Over the centuries, they recorded their presence and their knowledge in Sanskrit, architecture and sculptures. Gradually, however, they began to forget their origins. Planetary upheavals, conflicts with other species and other humans created more confusion. They dispersed and migrated to other lands. They forgot who they once were- as even their skin changed from ‘blue’ to white’. They forgot who they once were.

Exercising Imagination

During a short walk for exercise near my home, I came upon this sight of tiny flowers. How small they are, I thought. Then my imagination zoomed in to see them from the viewpoint of an even smaller creature of Nature, an insect. How large they are, I thought. Now my imagination lifted me to the perspective of a space traveller. Gone were the flowers. Gone was the planet Earth and the Solar System. I wonder what’s over there, I thought as I passed by while exercising my healthy imagination.
