A Young Species

We are a young Species.

Like young Children,

we grow in greater Awareness

of other Beings, other Humans

and strange-looking Creatures

sentient or not,

evolving fast or slow,

loving, friendly,

fearful, hostile,

appearing strange in many ways.

Like young Children,

we grow in greater Awareness

of where we live,

of Other Rooms and Spaces

Beyond the first we knew.

Some of us reach out

to touch the heavens,

eager to explore and know

The Wonders waiting Beyond

Closed Doors and Curtained Windows,

Beyond what we now see.

Some of us go deep within us

to know where our life began,

to know again The Womb of Heaven,

know again The Oneness

and The Wonder of It All.

Like young Children,

we grow in greater Awareness,

we Make Believe and Make It So

creating and co-creating

a myriad Dreams as Realities

Playing Out as we grow.

Beings of Older Ages, Other Places, watch

and sometimes even guide us

as we Play, Evolve and Grow.

Pollution

Pollution of land, water and air…

Pollution is now everywhere…

Pollution is now our food and drink

of disease and disaster everywhere

created by those who do not care-

driven by powers of greed and fear-

that Pollution of heart and mind

leading Mankind to the brink…

Evocative Scents

Evocative Scents

phlox blossoms

and watermelon

open to whisper

their presence

with evocative

cool sweetness

scents

so like the

subtle scent

that whispers

through woods

and fields

foretelling

Fall’s first snow

the mind begins

to wonder

but the senses

already know

the mind begins

to wonder

will we let

our greed

consume us

as we breathe

polluted air

when does need

transform to greed

when is

so much more

enough

what fragrance

will we gift

our future Earth

to wear

phlox blossoms

and watermelon

faintly whisper

when is

so much more

Enough

The Dolphin

The Dolphin
Shock and revulsion swept through him
in a swift, devastating wave
as he witnessed the intentional pollution
of waters essential to so many lives.
The dolphin struggled with his keen intelligence
to understand these strangest of sea-faring mammals.
They were curious, callous, and cruel,
these dominant killers of the aquatic world.
The pollution was everywhere!
He felt an overpowering sense of panic
and began to emit distress signals,
thrashing about in the fouled water.
Not knowing where to leap or dive,
his hopes slowly drowned in despair
of such arrogantly contemptuous destruction.
Polluted clouds formed from polluted waters
then marched with strong, polluted winds
to vent their raging, vengeful furies
on polluted sea and polluted land.
With them, the dolphin’s distress signals
echoed long unheeded warnings
of this insanely suicidal species
destroying the environment of their own world.
Listen…Do you hear him now?

Is your mind a toxic dump-site
poisoned by prejudice and hate,
or does a sparkling stream of love-light
pervade your mental state?
