The Beauty of Peacocks

God’s creations of splendorous beauty,

living symbols of Eternity…

Handsome Peacocks open to display,

inviting drab hens to come their way

to mate and procreate,

to bring more beauty to this world

of ugly jealousies and insults hurled,

self-righteous moralities, beauty maligned,

Nature oppressed and reasons to find

fault, to deny the wonders of God

revealed in the Peacocks’ eyes…

The World Between

Come. Let’s cross boundaries…

You have nothing to fear as we go.

Let’s walk through gates of definitions

into a glorious, Global Garden of Beauty-

the realm of Arts and Crafts there.

Let’s explore that vast World Between,

where definitions of Fine Arts and Crafts

are sometimes seen to merge and blend…

Let’s walk where aesthetic artistry

and reverent responses to Beauty

send us beyond simple perceptions.

Here are Crafts inspiring imaginations,

stirring emotions to flow…

Here, they meet with Fine Arts too-

those wondrous creations made through

skills, talents, techniques and tools.

Here, Beauty speaks the same language

understood in feelings we all know.

Come. Let’s cross boundaries…

You have nothing to fear as we go.

Celebrated Arts

Perhaps, like me, you’ve come to see

the Artists we most Celebrate,

in every Art that we create,

succeed through geographical Location

and supporting networks-Association.

How often Celebrated Art is a case

depending on glue and glamour of place,

depending on who it is Artists know,

spreading that glamour wherever they go.

On the global ‘Web’ I’ve come to see

Artistic Treasures to buy or admire for free

by Artists outside the Great Art Game,

not following the rules for Fortune and Fame

or knowing those who invest to profit and win

more wealth through Art and Artists now ‘in’.

I Celebrate Artists who stand apart

quietly creating their wondrous Art.

Different Culture Different Times

This is a small collection of Chinese statues I have. The middle one was inherited from my Great Grandmother who lived in Shanghai for a while. I like to think that its inlaid metal details are gold. The other two sculptures were bought a few years ago in a little consignment shop for a few dollars each. Now I call them the three old, wise men. I prefer to think they represent an ancient wisdom tradition of the Chinese culture of times past. There’s much to let go of in all cultures and much of value to treasure from the past in their ongoing evolution. That’s how I see it anyways. 😍
