Quiet and Peaceful

The house is still asleep and dreaming

but I awaken to greet the dawn.

I leave behind my restful sleep

to silently put the coffee on.

My cup full, I open the curtains to view

the scene so peacefully quiet and calm.

The sky appears coral on the horizon

with artfully brushed clouds of grey

moving slowly across the lake.

To the west, the stars are shining

as I watch them seem to fade away.

I am filled with awe and wonder,

thankful to be here another day,

simply grateful to be alive.

Others seek what they will, creating conflicts

but it is in good will where I thrive.

Yet, like so many people of good will,

there’s a sleeping warrior within me still.

Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

I’m not an activist or influencer but even ordinary people like me can acknowledge this day in our own way. I think other nations could do well to adopt such a day also. I’m sharing an old poem and old pics of flowers I felt suitable to add.

This Earth

This Earth

This Earth, this Planet, this Orb

ever in motion through Space,

this Home away from Home

here in the Realms of Physicality,

this dance of Life through Grace,

how can we not see, understand

your Nature expressing Divinity-

Divine Skies, Sacred Waters, Holy Lands

everywhere, all that you are

being and becoming, this Earth.

You are a Great Wonder and I am in awe.

Words&Lives&Leaves

Our words, our lives and identities

with our personalities and family trees

will fall away, disappear, be gone

like fallen leaves as we move on

into That Oneness, That Light where we belong.

Into That Greatest Love, That Joy and Peace,

That Highest Truth and Freedom’s release

we’ll go, finally Knowing who we are

as Life Itself, merging, emerging, Ever One.

Jealousy or Joy?

Jealousy or Joy… what do we feel? What do we see?

recent photos of sunflowers and clouds
photos taken in a public garden
clouds darkened the light on the sunflowers
the sunflowers are a little ‘enlightened’ here
