Acrylics on canvas and paper on canvas abstract. I call it my ‘Quiet Art’. So, I finally stopped procrastinating and started playing with my art supplies again. The winter light through the window and the artificial light dull down the colours so I did some photo editing. You might say that the colours are ‘almost true’. 😂
When I moved back to Ontario from BC a few months ago, my car was so packed I had to remove two large blank canvases from their frames and roll them up to squeeze them into a small space. The other day, I decided to start a new project so I unrolled them on our patio table to play outside with my acrylic paints. Messy and fun to do. One turned out to look like a tablecloth or shower curtain and the other looked overdone like a forgotten steak on the BBQ, neither destined for the Louvre, I know. However, it was my intention to create varying sized pieces of mosaics from the start. honestly 😂 Mosaic pieces are often a ‘go to’ when recycling some paintings I have done. My only ambition is fun. As you can see, I am only in the cutting phase of paint, cut, paste and display. I’ll probably add other surprise (to me) elements as I sometimes do. I’m in no hurry so will post more photos later perhaps.
Wild Imagination
Why do I feel a sense of Deja Vu?
Why did I choose this Timeline again-
this Pivotal Point in Human History?
I stare at my art in a borrowed room,
a remembrance of Chaos and Order, too,
while in the air another World War looms,
greater than those known before.
Why do I have a feeling it’s already here,
a subtle foreboding steadily rising?
Why am I not even a little surprised
seeing the set ‘stages’ of a New World Order
and more- a new Stalin already puppeteering
an old Roman Emperor, a different Hitler
(with paid psychics, devices and A.I. versions spying)
upstaging, dictating, realigning, deceiving,
all controlled by a Ring of Global Mafia to rule all.
I stare at the canvas, seeing through and through,
or do I just imagine the fall of trusted systems
and renewed old thinking in different forms
that alienate, dominate, decimate almost all?
Perhaps it’s my overactive imagination
that Humanity may still choose a Better Tomorrow,
a more healthy, loving and peaceful Direction?
So many kinds of Storms rage in Nations-
physical, mental, emotional, spiritual Storms.
Some remind me of the Story of Mordor rising
to War, and the Story of a Fire Dragon in the Treasury.
My Artistic Imagination must be wild
in someone like me, so meek and mild.
There are so many ‘alternate endings’
and ‘new beginnings’ in Stories I know.
Does Love or Fear ‘Win’ this time, I wonder…
The Sun continues to shine above the driven clouds.
The Moon continues to glow by borrowed sunlight.
The Stars continue to sparkle by day and night
as the World turns, changing over and over again.
