Excerpt from  my poem Hagar’s Silence)

How did it come to be

that the all-powerful

Creator of all

was so powerless

as to need a nomad tribe

to fight as ally in a minor war…

The reward of promised land,

great wealth, divine favour,

and countless children

to be born, like desert sands…

Hagar’s Silence (excerpt)

Combing her hair in silence,

I begin to wonder

how it all came to be,

humanity’s enslavement

to the gods and goddesses,

the endless blood sacrifices

of man and beast

before, after, and between their wars…

The Old Storyteller

Knitting yarns of sun-lit rainbow mist and storm-dark clouds once lightning kissed, she clothed such beauty to our days blessed by her bright mind-magic ways.
A wee verse I wrote in 2004 and serendipitous bit of lighting later.

Collage and poem I wrote after a visit to the ancient sites of Egypt
