a gray scenario

a gray scenario
they met in the gray zone
of politics and security and law…
little gray beings from beyond gray skies
with magical powers and technologies
and fast-graying humans with gray-suited skills
of negotiation and compromise…
there were no black and white judgments
here in the gray zone—
just a cold linking of minds
exploring gray values…
all eyes betraying
a quick-silver clarity of understanding
and grim, machiavellian determination
to gain the greatest profit from their contact—
the power and wealth of knowledge gained
by trade in lives, minds, and bodies
to observe, examine, dissect, and analyze…
some to be killed, some to be kept alive,
some to be cross-bred,
some to be returned to their societies
with stolen memories and traumas hidden
in misty-gray dreams—
the lucky ones to be tagged and observed
with technological wonders
as they lived out their days like chosen pets…
just a little gray-trading of lives—
a simple commodity trade
to empower and ensure the survival
of their own species…or so they thought…

Fragrant Pinks

Fragrant Pinks
They met in the park
by the plantings of pink dianthus flowers,
fragrant pinks,
both dressed in shades of pink
and smelling of flowery soaps and perfumes.
They were two young mothers,
one dark-skinned , one fair,
taking their babies for a slow, summer stroll.
Perhaps it was the warm radiance
of so much motherly pink energy
that caused them to speak.
A warm-hearted greeting
quickly budded into conversation
about nurturing and mother-love.
This friendly chat
miraculously blossomed in time
into a life-long, true friendship
blessing and embracing
each others’ families and friends as well.
It was in the park that day
that two souls found a way
to honour so many lives
with beautiful plantings
of pink energy values—
caring, kindness, affectionate respect—
and that love of fragrant pinks.

Reincarnation

Reincarnation
I have died in northern snows—
I have died in desert sands—
I have died in many waters—
I have died in many lands.
Yet for all the dying
here I live and love again
creating more experience
on this dimension’s plane.
Sometimes I remember
people and places from ‘before’
with strong and certain feelings
I simply can’t ignore.
Perhaps some might think
I was ‘born just yesterday’.
You’d think I’d be much wiser
in the things I do and say.
I’m just here for Adventure.
While Heaven is my Home,
I love to play with Atoms
in a Universe to roam.
God gave me this Vacation
on little planet Earth,
but sometimes I must wonder
what’s this Adventure worth!!!

A Hawk Watching Lions

A Hawk Watching Lions
They were a pride of lions, the family down the street,
I watched them from my tree-top perch.
Proud and regal in their ways, they held court daily
with the creatures all about them.
Those who gained their friendship felt the favour
of family loyalties and combined strengths
few could match.
Others felt their fearsome claws
and sharp, carnivore teeth.
I observed them with curious interest
as they lounged and played and hunted their prey.
Then I took to the air and quietly flew away.

Talking To a Tree

Talking To a Tree
It was love at first sight,
the moment I saw you there
in the bliss of a sunlit day.
I’d heeded the sea’s insistent call
and found you on the way,
quietly waiting with all the other trees.
Your presence overwhelmed me
with a sense of strength and peace.
I became aware that in you
the life force flowed in a stream
of potent power unmatched by those around.
I felt it, too, when I reached to touch you.
How I needed to be at-one—
your energy mingled with mine!
Then the memory awoke in my heart.
In a bright-coloured childhood dream
I was digging in the ground
beneath a great and mystic tree.
Laid between the massive roots, I could see
the many treasures I had found.
The wealth of radiant gems I’d sought
with undaunted will and patient care
lay in abundance everywhere!
I marveled at the awesome beauty
of such clear cut stones of varying size.
When I thought to myself,
“What tree is this?” I heard
a wise and knowing voice say,
“I am the Tree of Life!”
So now, here I am, a guardian angel,
Ariel, the Angel of Nature in disguise,
a woman just talking to a tree.
