Patti’s Jazz

Patti’s Jazz
She comes and goes
with a blast of uneven rhythms
and surprising, coloured harmonies
swirling about her being.
Patti is a jazz tune
with a range of dark, deep thunders
and high note wails of leashed wildness
stretched so taut you hold your breath
and wait…

Dragons

Dragons
Once upon a time
dragons breathed fire
and belched foul smoke
draggin’ on cigarettes,
puffin’ cigars and pipes,
blowin’ death on wee folk…
Just a fairy-tale of course.

just to breathe

just to breathe
another restless night
another heartbreak sight
watching your child fight
just to breathe, just to breathe
you try to stay strong
wondering how long
watching your child fight
just to breathe, just to breathe

My Gift

My Gift
Beloved Lord, Divine Love,
once again
I have nothing to offer You but myself…
I stand in Your Presence
putting away the robe of pride…
You see beyond the robe and the flesh…
You see my sacrifice and my love—
and once again—
You respond with Your comforting embrace
and the sacred ‘kiss’ of ecstasy,
that holy ‘kiss’ of Spirit
whose ‘fire’ consumes my little gift of me
in acceptance of Unity—
I in You and You in me—
aware of only Oneness, Mystic Love,
Your most sacred Present of all.
