Rich and Poor
Why are people valued more or less
by things they do or don’t possess?
Do mere collections state your worth
from the moment of your birth?
Is the measure of your life today
found in things that will decay?
Is owning a house or having a car
truly a statement of what you are?
Do jewels or tools define your being?
Does money announce your life’s meaning?
Do you see yourself as ‘better’ or ‘best’
by things you do or don’t possess?
Are you master or slave to what you own?
Is ‘wanting’ all you’ve ever known?
